LEARNING DIFFICULTIES
Preventing and minimizing child neglect, developmental delay and behavioural problems

In this full day workshop, Dr. Feldman will present an assessment, training, and support model specifically designed for parents with learning problems.

Dr. Feldman will demonstrate parent training checklists, teaching aids and strategies expressly designed for parents with learning difficulties. Dr. Feldman will review his competence-based parenting capacity assessment approach that leads to comprehensive family support plans and interventions that reduce risk to the children so that they can stay or be returned home. There will be an opportunity for general discussion of issues and for workshop participants to ask questions about specific issues.

FETAL ALCOHOL SPECTRUM DISORDER: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

This training session will define FASD and provide information on features, diagnosis, the prevalence of FASD in children, interventions, primary and secondary disabilities and care for the caregivers. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussions about specific cases.
